about me

Hi, I’m Phúc (Phuc Nguyen, if your keyboard has no Vietnamese layout). I teach IT at RMIT Vietnam as an Associate Lecturer, and I’m doing a PhD in Computer Science at the same time, or maybe it’s the other way round. I’ve taught at RMIT since 2021 and moved into the lecturer role in August 2026. My research is about making indoor navigation safer for blind and visually impaired people.

Before teaching, I spent six years building web apps for logistics, blockchain, and construction companies. My last job in industry was Senior Software Engineer at Whammy Tech, and before that I worked at Fastercom and Bouygues Construction IT. I still write code most days, mostly in Svelte, Rust, and Node.js. I like open source enough to have put a LaTeX package on CTAN (texchanges).

When I’m not teaching or coding, I play music, play video games, or read tech articles I probably should have bookmarked instead. Coffee is involved in all of it.
